Your Generous Support is Needed
Our Big Project: Replacing our Sea Scout Dock.
Since it was built in 1935, generations of Sea Scouts have called the dock at Waterway 18 on Lake Union home. Now owned by The Spirit of Propeller, Inc., a foundation formed to support the Sea Scouts and other youth maritime training programs, the old dock must be replaced in order to comply with the current requirements of the Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources and the Federal Environmental Protection Administration.
We ask for your help in funding our dock replacement project. By joining with us, you will help ensure that future generations of Seattle's youth and Sea Scouts will have access to maritime youth workforce development, training and education programs. Your donation will contribute to improving the lake environment and habitats for aquatic marine life.
This fall, at a cost of over $30,000 and after three years of effort, we have completed all the required local, state and federal permitting necessary for the construction of our new dock. Construction could begin 2024 when we achieve our $550,000 funding goals.
